Family Travels
Conwy
Conwy
Conwy Castle was built in 1280 (along with its fortified walled
town) to give King Edward an English toehold in Wales.

Conwy offers the best medieval walls in Britian...and a great
place to home-base your travels in northern Wales

We planned our trip to coincide with Conwy Days -- an
Annual festival that fills the town with fun events for the locals.
(we were some of only a few U.S. tourists joining in)

One night we caught the Annual Lantern of Light
Parade...with happy children showing off their home-made
lanterns .  It ended with a bizarre show on town square
complete with bad Vikings throwing trash...and a Monster
who comes and eats the litter....Morale of the story???
We are not sure...but Please keep Wales clean

Conwy Harborside

Every evening  is a social
event as locals and tourists
mingle and have a beer.
Conwy claims this as Britian's
Smallest House....
Cute tourist trap
Brent loved this medieval weaponry shop.

Fish and Chips in Conwy...
Two Fish and Chips places claim to be the best
Galleons, on High Street, and
Fishermans on Castle Street
We tried both...like Galleons better.

A nice casual dinner option--
eat down at the harbor
